How long have you been a member of the BPO?
I’ve been a member of the BPO for 10 years.
What inspired you to take up your instrument?
My parents who are both musicians, although they are both violinists.
How did you come to join the orchestra?
A BPO member advised me there was a trombone vacancy.
Most treasured occasion with the BPO?
The performance of Mahler’s Symphony No 2 (“Resurrection”) in Birmingham Town Hall in 2008.
Any moments you’d rather forget?
Falling off the back of the stage during an afternoon rehearsal on the day of a concert!
Favourite composer?
It has to be Mahler.
Least favourite composer?
Beethoven.
Work(s) you’d like to play before you die?
Mahler’s Symphony No 3, and generally any pieces involving lots of brass appeal to me!
