What is your occupation?
I’m a trainee actuary.
How long have you been a member of the BPO?
About 3 years now.
What inspired you to take up your instrument?
I started learning the recorder when I was 6 and after a few lessons my teacher suggested I try the violin. I’ve stuck with it ever since.
How did you come to join the orchestra?
After I graduated from university I didn’t have an orchestra to play in – I wanted to join a reputable orchestra and I’d heard about the BPO a few years previously.
Most treasured occasion with the BPO?
When we played Mahler’s Symphonies No.6 & 10. I’d never played Mahler before and performing those works gave me a great buzz!

Not yet – I’m sure there’s plenty of time for that.

Tchaikovsky, Mahler and Brahms.
Least favourite composer?
Schoenberg and Stockhausen
