Outside of BPO, what is your occupation?
I am a soundtrack composer specialising in music for films, games and animation.
How long have you been a member of BPO?
Since 2021
What inspired you to take up your instrument?
I started out on the saxophone aged 7 and decided at aged 11 that it just wasn't loud enough, so percussion it was!
How did you come to join the orchestra?
I moved back to Birmingham in 2021 having lived in Bristol for 10 years and spotted BPO's request for percussionists online. The timing was perfect!
Most treasured occasion with the BPO?
The Chipping Campden concert of music from one of my favourite films, 2001: A Space Odyssey, is definitely a special memory. It was a really fun day together and great gig.
Any moments you would rather forget?
Not so far...
Favourite composer? Least favourite composer?
I've always been a lover of Shostakovich and a hater of Elgar, but tastes change so ask me again in 10 years!
Work(s) you would like to play before you die?
Some rollicking film music would be good fun, perhaps by James Horner.
