  • What inspired you to take up your instrument?

At the age of 5 years old, I was given the opportunity to learn an instrument at School. After a few peripatetic lessons, my teacher said that I had a natural aptitude for the violin.

  • How did you come to join the orchestra?

It was natural progression. Starting off in the Birmingham Schools’ Orchestras when I was 8 years old and working my way up to Academy Chamber Orchestra and The City of Birmingham Symphony Youth Orchestra where I had a plethora of opportunities to play some incredible works and go on tour. I loved and still love music! As I was unable to pursue music as a full time career but still wanted to play, I was offered the opportunity to audition for BPO and I couldn’t say no… I’ve been here ever since and plan on being here for many years to come!
